“The Guitar Should Get Out of Your Way”

Jesse Beausoleil, Founder & Builder

I didn't learn to build guitars in a woodworking school or a traditional luthiery program. I learned precision the hard way, in the real world, where things either work exactly right or they don't work at all.

My name is Jesse Beausoleil. I've been playing guitar since I was 16 and music has been the constant thread running through everything I've done. But my professional background is rooted in heavy industry: diesel technology, HVAC systems, centrifugal pumps, and large-scale concert venue setup and support, including power generation for major live events. In those fields, tolerances matter. Reliability is non-negotiable. If a system fails, the show stops. You learn quickly that "close enough" is never good enough.

When I started Soleil Custom Guitars out of my two-car garage in Willis, Texas, I brought that same obsessive, industrial-grade attention to detail into lutherie. Every spec is intentional. Every component is chosen for a reason. Every neck is carved and every fret is leveled until it's right, not until it's acceptable.

Why I Build

I build guitars because I love the instrument and I love the music it makes possible. But as a player, I know the frustration of fighting an instrument that isn't dialed in, a neck that doesn't feel right, frets that catch, tuning that drifts, a guitar that demands your attention instead of rewarding your playing.

A guitar shouldn't be a burden. It shouldn't be something you work around. When you pick it up, it needs to completely disappear so you can focus entirely on creating. That philosophy drives every single decision I make in the shop.

I am obsessive about specs and playability. I source only the highest quality tonewoods and components. I build instruments that are precision tools first and works of art second, though I take equal pride in both.

One Builder. One Shop. One Standard.

When you order a Soleil, you aren't buying a guitar off an assembly line. You are getting an instrument built by one set of hands, in one shop, with one goal: to create the best possible tool for you to create with.

Every guitar that leaves my shop has been touched, measured, adjusted, and played by me personally. There is no team. There is no outsourcing. There is just the work and a relentless commitment to getting it right.

If you're ready to play an instrument built specifically for the way you play, I'd love to build it for you.
